1. prevent bogus post to some degree
2. tying trail to userid make it possible to have more interesting and useful services, something like a alert email can be sent to you when there is approve posted.
3. protect your post from changed accidentaly by other user.

(tip: for user already posted, update your post will tie it to your userid)
