question on when to apply EAD

I-485 pending. Planing to use EAD to work. My currently EAD will expire in the middle of Nov.
I am leaving to china in the middle of July and plan to come back in Oct. My question is

A. Can I apply to renew EAD now and use my friend's address to get EAD when I am in China

B. Can I prepare the EAD application now and let my friend send it in August when I am in China

I am worried if I apply after I come back from china, I might not be able to get the new one before the current one expire in Nov.
