I have a couple of questions on landing of independent immgration to Canada? Currently I am in New York now. And I need to land Canada before February. Where is the closest entry port I can land? Montreal is OK, but I heard that since it is in Quebec, the immigration policy is different. Thus, if you do not apply for the immigration specially there, you are allowed to land there. IS that true?

And another question is whether I can come back to USA the same day and let them send the SIN card and other stuff to my American address?

Do I need to show them the settlement fund since I will not stay in Canada?
