求助，小白兔，OPT while I485 pending?

Dear all high hands,
I applied NIW as a F1 student. My I140 was approved last July, but I485 is pending. Should I apply EAD card or OPT in Texas Center because my I20 exexpiration date is August 31st? Any advantage of applying OPT than 485-EAD? Safer, less tax, exactly one year, etc? Otherwise 485-EAD seems the same.If my OPT is denied, is it enough time to apply 485-EAD afterwards?
BTW, can I apply H1 as a backup identity while using 485-EAD?
