Please tell us what is my husband's visa status

Dear all,

My hu*****and submitted his I-485 as my dependent( I am H1, he is H4), my I-140 is still pending, he will start to work by using his EAD, what is his visa satus? his HR people asked this question, and only has folloeing three choices:
1, US citizen
2, Permanent resident
3, foreign national: current visa status: and visa expiration date: desired visa status:
