I DIYed my EB-1a in 9/1004 and got aproved in 4 months in 1/2005. Well, my 485 is still pending due to ackgrounding check.
My case is not very strong. Just 20 papers in international journals (most are first authors). 80 citations at the time of 140 applications.
I think that you have good chance to win a EB-1a too.
