My questions is about the consequence of "out of status". Three to four years ago, I lost my F1 status because of my stupid mistake. As a result, I went back to Beijing and reinstated my F1 status. Currently I am working on the my Ph.D. degree with legal F-1 status. However, I still doubt if that experience can come back and haunt me. I would like to ask a couple of questions:
1. Does that experience have negative effect on my H-1B visa/immigration application? After I lost my status, I tried to reinstated in the States. However, it was rejected. I followed the instruction from INS, and immediately went back to Beijing to renew my visa.
2. How do answer such a question "has your visa ever been cancelled?" Actually, when INS rejected my reinstate application, my previous F-1 was cancelled. However, if I answer "yes" to that question. Will the BCIS people will deny my future H1B/immigration application?
Thanks a lot,
FG
