Landing in CA

Post our landing info, (one H1 and two H4).

on DEC 28 we rent a car at US-CA border and drive to CA, no US custom officer showed up, drove across the bridge, CA custom officer only me ask how much cash we had bring with us, we told him we have only $200 then he let us got in immigration office, they did not even check our car.

Then we go to CA immigration offfice, they checked our landing visa, bank statment, and landing paper.

Most importantly is they want to know we still have job in US, they want us to show them our valid I-94 form, I think they must know this in order to let me go back to US to work, then they ask for the CA mailing address, they told me the Maple Card will be mailed to my CA address in 4-6 weeks, then they stamp our landing date and let us go, it only takes a few minutes.

at the next morning, we drove back to US, at the border, no CA custom officer show up. US custom officer first check our Passport and I-94, ask me where I live and work, I answered him and told him we just did our landing at yesterday, then he checked our car very carefullly and let us get in US.

The string thing is we did not got entry stamp on our passport when we came back US, is it because we did not have a new VISA? Anybody knows it? Will it be a problem a later time?
