When you fill out the form for F-1 application, you

might have to answer whether you or your family members have ever applied for immigration visa. In you case, you definitely want to answer no to avoid the denial of your F-1 visa applicaiton. So the problem is, when you file your I-485 later on, they might be able to find out you lied beforehand. But I am not very sure whether the USCIS have access to all the information of US embassy. So be careful when making the decision.
