Thanks for your detailed reply. Somehow, when I check uscis.gov, for processing date (PD?), it shows October 22, 2005 for I-130 (permanent resident filing for a spouse) at Vermont Service Center. So is that 2001/2002 PD for the Visa Number?
So from the Vermont PD, it looks like that my I-130 will probably get approved in a few months and then I can file EAD along with I-485. In short, I am trying to get EAD as quickly as possible. Am I missing some part or still misunderstanding? Please advise. Thanks.

You can not file 485 (and EAD, AP) before your PD is current.
