Extra question: Korean's priority date on I-485, sorry!

My Korean girl friend just got her lab certificate based on PERM, and she is planning to file I-140/485, since her lawyer told her (I guess she thought my gf is Chinese)it may takes long time for the priority date to come, we get very confused. My knowledge is that only People born in China and India are dependent on the the availability of visa number or I-485. So, please tell me, is Korean affected by this? What is the status for their I-485 currently?

I know this is out of the discussion of the forum, we just hope to know this before contacting lawyer again.
