Suggestions to all NIW RFE receivers!

Your RFE is a regular one. You need to readdress the issue of third prong of NIW, that is, how the national interst would be adversely affected if you were asked to go through LC procedure, in other words, to prove you are superior to your peers.

The key to NIW application is the influence of your work on national interest AND on your peer's study/research.

The influence or potential influence of your work on national interest is mainly supported throug your recommmendation letter. so that is why independent and strong recommendation letters are so important.

The influence or potential influence of your work on your peer's study is mainly supported through the following ways not just citation

1) citations (look for [indpendent if poosible] review citations, or citation from big guys, remember if the big guy can cite your work, then immigration officer will be able to figure how big you are!! so never forget to mention how big the guy who cited your work)

2) acedemic recognition of your work (any award such as excellent paper or excellent employeee awards etc)

3) reviewer of your peer's work

4) any invitations to contribute acedemic conferences, or to be the member of any professional societies

5) reprint request or any email consultation about your work or expertise. Remember if anybody ask for your academic help and ask them to send you email requests, then you can collect those emails as evidence to show your influence, in other words, you are superior to your peers.

6) to be the mentor for any other students working in your labs etc.

just imagine anything which can show your academic contribution will be great evidence for this purpose.

Citation is just one piece of evidence to show your impacts. If any body request your help academically or in terms of your expetise, just ask them to request via email. Then you can print out those emails as evidence.

In one word, you need to find new independent recomm letters, collect the possible new evidence if any, esp, the evidence the officer mentioned in your RFE, compose a RFE response letter.
