I am a H1-B holder in a non-profit organization last year. Before I moved to US, I lived in Canada as a permanent resident. I am wondering whether I can be treated as a resident of China before moving to US. Under article 19 from the US-China tax treaty , my eligibility of expemtion of fed tax depends on whether I am a resident of China before moving to US. thanks for your help
Can I be treated as a resident of China for tax purpose?
