Anyone can help us?

Hello, I need your help.

We (H-1 & H-4 Visa) are eligible for EIC according the instructions of Form 1040 ( about tax claim), and the money is over $1,000. But some one said, it will have bad influence when we apply Green Card if we get EIC.

Is that true? Since we haven't begin to apply for green card, we are very nervous about it. Should I get my EIC or should I just give up? Is EIC also a kind of benifits from government? Can anyone help us? Your help will be appreciated.
