#2 is the best. the change for background is very small. My wife and my son applied for H4 and just took 2 days to get 3 year H4 at Toronto. I applied B1/B2 at Toronoto and just took 2 days to get 10 year B visa last year.

#2 is illegle, but it was said that some people did took the risk of trying it and succeeded. If Costoms officers checked your passport carefully, they can find that you go to China during 30 days because Chinese Costoms stamp your passport. If I were you, I would not take this risk.
