xiaobaitu, mytwocents and others, please help

Now it is time to file extension for my H1B. my family's I-485 are pending. My question is that if it is worth ($200)to renew my daughter's H4. She is going to college next year (no problem for admission because she is a very good student). If she has no H4, what is her status? I mean when she applies for college.
