I am currently H1b, 140 approval and 485 pending over 180 days, no EAD. Got an oral offer from a big company. Asked to start work asap and can sponsor new H1b. I just want to have a smooth and safe transfer. I know I can start to work for the new company once they got the H1b receipt notice for me from the CIS office.
When would be a good time (after signing the formal offer or wait till the receipt notice) to notify my current employer for a two-week notice? The worst situation, I lose my current H1B and before the receipt notice, do I have legal status after I sign and accept the formal offer letter from the new company.
Need help from XiaoBaiTu, Mytwocents and veterans. Thank you in
