I graduated last year, my OPT ends on 02/14/2006. On 09/01/2005, I worked for a company and they sponsored my H1, I asked the lawyer to set my H1 effective date as 02/15/2006. Becuase of some reasons, I was laid off on Jan 31, my last paycheck date is 02/15/2006. So I have to change to F2. I submit the package of transffering visa status to Immigration Bureau. I am still waiting for it.
Who can tell me when I can get it? I am worried about it. Is there any possibility that I will be rejected?
If I get another job, the company have to apply for a brand new H1 or no need?
One company told me that I can worked there and they will pay me with visiting scientist way. I don't understand that since F2 is illegal to work, why they can pay me by this way? Is there any serious consequences?
my situation is complicated. Please give suggestions
