H1 and L1 can have double intent. But F1 can't. So after you filed I485, you have automatically lost your F1 status and changed to AOS, no matter whether you used AP/EAD or not. You can certainly keep studying. But you will not be able to get OPT after you graduate, unless CIS officer makes mistake. For H1 and L1, people can work for current employers without EAD by just using AP for re-entry.
