You do not need to do anything. In fact, you can not do anything to change the procedure. According to the current CIS policy, if you are on H1 and won't leave the current employer, you can continue working H1 without using EAD after coming back on AP. Your status will be technically changed to Parolee and can change back to H1 through an extension.

You need only to bring passort, AP, a couple of photo IDs in order to use AP.
