Xiaobatu, mytwocents and other experts, please help

My 485 is pending and now I use EAD. Can my employer file a H1b petition for me for the same position? I want to switch to H1b from AOS.

If that works, can I apply an AP before I leave US to get H1b visa? In case H1b visa is denied, can I still use AP to come back?
