回複:Dear Xiaobaitu, Worthit, fsa2000, and lovewind, please he

I got my RFE for Officer 590 at VSC, the same as xuexiangnan. Does this officer like to reject a lot of cases? I am very nervous.

******************************************************
From my experience, I feel officer 590 is a reasonable person. Anyway it does not help to worry about the officer... No matter who the officer is, you need to try your best!
******************************************************

The 590 requested me to submit the citation history of my papers and impact factors of the journals which published my papers.

Since 2002, I started to publish English papers. Now, I have 3 English papers and 14 citations for these 3 papers. The earlier publication, the more citations. Do you think if 14 citations are enough? My major is not a basic and hot major and can not expect a lot of citations. Some citations were made by my previous Ph.D. lab. Will the officer find this? In my citation record, only the first 3 authors are on the record, my old boss’s name is not on the record.

******************************************************
Citation is something that can not be improved in a short period of time. Actually I feel 14 citations are pretty good. However, you also need to provide more evidence to prove the impact of your research, such as letters or emails from other researchers inquiring about your research or asking for paper reprint. In addition, try to emphasize the quality of the papers which cited your results. For example, papers from "big guy" citing your paper, or review paper citing your paper. Always remember that the "impact" is "LUN DIAN", and citation is just one of the "LUN JU".
*****************************************************

The impact factors for the journals publishing my papers are about 2.5. Is it OK? My major is an applied science and can not get published in good journals like Nature.

*****************************************************
I feel the impact factor is ok. Anyway, you should not keep thinking about "if this is ok" or "if that is ok". Instead, just focus the actual thing and just do your best!
******************************************************

When I first submitted my application last September, in my CV, I mentioned I have submitted 2 papers and submitted these 2 manus to them. Now, the officer requested for the updated information for these 2 papers. But these two papers are still in revision. Is that a problem? But I have another paper got accepted (I am the 5th author, but I did not mention it when I submitted my application). Do I need to mention it this time? Does it help? Because I am only the 5th author.

***************************************************
Yes you need to mention the accepted letter. For the manuscipts, emphasize that the papers received very positive comments from the editors however you would like to make it better.
****************************************************

The officer also requested me to submit the evidence of any new significant contributions I have made sine the date of filing. When I first submitted, the drug I am in charge of is under Phase II clinical trials, now, it got good results in Phase II clinical trials. Can I submit the formal report of Phase II clinical trials to them? Does it help?

*****
YES, definitely include this evidence

BTW, I got my Ph.D. in the U.S., does it help for my application?

YES! But I guess you already mentioned this point in your original application.

Good luck to you! For further help, please email me at: fsa2000@gmail.com
