Yes, most of people use I-134 for employment based case. But my lawyer told me I can prepare both(I-134 and I-864) just in case. My category is EB2, how about yours? Following to join means your spouse can get benefit from your case, I think your wife case's category should be the same as yours, that is where benefit is. If you are employment based case, you have to wait until your wife's priority date is available, which mean your wife immigrant number is available.
