1. Successor in-interest is needed to keep your old LC good for your new company. If the lawyer say no, it is a No. However,if the old company still supports you, you can use it to file 140 and even 485, which means that you promise to switch back to the old company at 485 stage (at least when 485 is approved).
2. Yes. Unless the company continues to support you, or the 140 based on your new 140 is approved before May in the next year.
3. Only when the 140 based on that LC is approved and is not withdrawn by your old company.

5. No, unless your wife is qualified the 7-th year extension condition set forth in AC 21.
