About use of EAD-xiaobaitu come in

I am wondering if it is Ok for me to use EAD for SSN not for job? I am currently a J-1 holder. I got the favorable recommendation letter from US Department of State but the final result is still pending at CSC. Your reply will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
