Usually, people send the letter when the processing date is close to their RD. The employment letter needs to give the detailed job deion and to say either a continued R&D work in the NIW field or an application of the R&D work of the NIW field, and etc. Sometimes people also send the copy of new publications, company internal reports (if company allows), and etc to demonstrate the continuation of contribution in the NIW field. Actually, same letter can be also be used to reply a RFE regarding the question of employment and same field.
