American widow(er) v. Spouse of I 485 principle

昨天在論壇裏看到有人討論 widow(er) of american citizen 申請綠卡的辦法 (I-360)，由此想到以下極端情況：如果I-140已批準，在I-485等待期間,如果主申請人意外亡故，那麽他配偶的I-485怎麽辦？
