i was interviewed too, just after i got job in 2000.
The funding I got in school is either from US army, or navy or army research office, also i was once delayed issuing visa in beijing for 2 weeks, at that time, the bombing China embassy is just over.

u do not need to worry, nothing, just be confident, show him that you are much smarter than him.
