If you have filed I-485 for your hu*****and, he is not able to get OPT application approved. Furthermore, if you already filed 485 for him last Sep., he already lost his F1 status. F1 status is not allowed to have immigration intent, so once you filed 485 for him, he automatically lost his F1 status. So if he wants to work, the only option is to use EAD. He can't work on H4 status.
