持加拿大綠卡在美國

去年拿到加拿大綠卡，後來在美國找了個做研究的機會，J-1簽證。如果想繼續在美停留幾年做研究，對加拿大綠卡是否會有影響？這樣的情況如何保留加拿大的身份？
