Unbelievable Story. Misleading

It is well known that US born kids with age of 21 or above can process immigration for their parents. It is impossible for Ms. Lin in the story to get a GC from her US-born child within 10 years. Also, it is well-known that without a legal status, it is impossible for the parents of US-born kids to stay legally in US.
