I think since you filed just before the Oct 1 deadline, your priotity date probably is not reached yet (4/1/02). So the RFE is probably about some documents missing in your application package, e.g. the tax form, health exam, etc. My guess it is not the time they are going to approve your case, just to fix something in your package. (of course, unless you filed your 140 every early, before 4/1/02)

In your case, I will try to land an aproproiate job ASAP. Means in your NIW field. Just to prepare for any question about your carrer.
