Your background is not weak. You should have had no problem to get your case approved.
Get 3-5 independent recom letters, reorganize your supporting materials, and compose a new RFE response letter with all the supporting evidence (you can include already-submitted evidence to address the issue but you do not need to resubmit those evidence). That is all you can do.
If you think your current lawyer is not competent, you may hire another one if money is not an issue.
