This question has been answered many times. If you come back within 30days, no visa is required. This is "visa auto-revalidation" policy. Make sure you have 1) at least one visa stamp in your passport, no matter what category it is and still valid or not. 2) valid H1b I-94. 3) Take all H1b related documents such as original I-797, employment verification letter, paystab etc with you.
If you want to apply for a visa, all Consulate and Embassy are almost the same. Some will issue visa in the same day, like Consulate in Vancouver, while other will issue visa in the next day. Check Consulate website for details. NOTE. If your application is rejected, you can NOT come back under "visa auto-revalidation" policy.
