My visa has expired, I94 is AOS

And it is valid for one year from the date I entered into USA.
However, my lawyer told me not to worry about that one year valid thing. I can stay here as long as my H1B is still valid (My H1b is valid until 2007 Jan). After that, I can either extend the H1B or apply EAD to work.
