You don't have a visa, need to apply in China

It might be too late. You need quite some materials from your company, like letters from HR, to apply for a visa, in order to come back.

You comfused the status with visa. Your I797 approval notice for Hib is for your change of status. Once you leave US, you need a visa (means a phycial stamp on your passport) to come back. So you cannot use I797 approval notice and its attached I94 (except for Mexico and Canada) to come back. You DO need a visa, you need to call for an interview appointment in China, and practically I don't think you can come back on 1/25 at all, because the appointment ususally takes a few weeks at least.
