3-month gap is awkard!

Of it is less than a month, CIS probably will ignore this gap. But 3 monthes might be totally different story. It might be a big risky factor when you apply for GC later. Nobody knows what the officer will treat your 3 month gap then.

To be safe, go home and apply a H1 visa, it seems recently it is not hard for H1 at all, given your major is not sensitive.
