I heard it is easy, especially you've been approved in F1 status, just need a visa stamp.
Before 911, I know J1->F1, and J2->F1 while the J1 of J2 is already F1 for a long time.
So definitely it is easy before 911.
I'm not sure about now.
If you try, can you let us know? I'm thinking going to Canada too?
BTW, when you changed from H1 to F1, did you quit job before approval or after approval?
