A question about J-1 visa waiver

I have worked as a visiting scholar (J-1 visa holder) at Pennsylvania State University since November 1, 2004. Now I’m applying for the waiver of the two-year home country residence. I have a question as follows:

Could I be employed by some other university such as Northwestern University, or only by Penn State University, after the expiration date (Oct.31, 2006) of my current DS-2019 Form if my waiver application is approved? I know, I can not extend my J-1 visa any more once my waiver application is approved, and I have to change my visa into H1b. Your answer to my question is hereby appreciated.
