Does extended period counts for Canadian citizenship application

I am a Canadian citizen and work in US now. My wife is a Canadian permanent resident and accompanies me in US now. I know that her extended period in US will count the requirement 2 Year in Canada of 5 Years in order to keep her immigrant status. But I want to know if the extended period counts the requirement 3 Year in Canada of 4 Years when she applied for Canadian citizenship in the future?
