H1B 延期時期回國如何簽證， 風險多大？

I am doing IT in big corporation. My 3-years H1B status expire in middle of this month. Company applied my H1B extension 2-3 weeks ago. I want to go back to China for 2-3 weeks as soon as possible. I still have 3 weeks vocation left this year, and will be wasted doing nothing if I don't schedule a trip soon. What if I go back to China before I got my H1B extension approval notice? Do I have to pay the $2000 H1B fee in China when I apply H1B visa? Will I get denied since my current H1B will expire in a few days even though company can show a letter for continuing the job? Is it so called 返簽?
