Urgent help appreciated - H1B visa stamping and H4 visa applicat

I hold H1-B and work in software company in US. I have been in US for 8 years. I was on F1 for 5 years and transfered my H1-B several times. My son is in China. He applied F2 himself before, but was denied. Visa officer asked me to go back to apply with him. I plan to go back to apply H1-B visa and H4 for my son. Will my H1-B and my son's H4 visa be succesful? Will my H1-B be held for background/security check as this is my first time going back for visa stamping? How long the background/security check will be? I have only two weeks in China. Please share your experiences and ideas.
