you cannot get around, still have to file 140!!

Without 140, 485 doesn't make any sense. My feeling the schedule A group II belongs to lab certificate, once it is approved, you still have to file 140 and then 485!

Schedule A, Group II is not an immigrant visa classification. It is only a waiver of the alien employment certification requirement certification requirement imposed on most employment-based second preference and third preference immigrants. Any Schedule A, Group II request must be filed with the BCIS with an immigrant visa petition under one of those two classifications.
