You can try below steps:

1) use AP and passport come back to USA.
2) When you are at the extry, the officer will give you a new I94, pay attention to the "valid stay period".
For example, "until December 1, 2006".

3) Then at June 2, 2006, you can renew your "H1" based on your pending/approved I140 just like the normal H1 renewal.
Usually you will have good chance to be approved. Then you go back to H1 again.
