As I know, almost all the applicants have been required to take English test recently no matter what background he/she has. It may be a new trend for Canada immigration given increased number of applicants and more fraud cases.

Applying for Canada is totaly doable by yourself. Don't be ripped off by greedy crooks lawyers. They can't make any difference for your case. You are 100% responsible for yourself. If you can't get through the application procedure on your own, your future to survive well in Canada is very dim.
