you can do self-petition

for NIW and Eb1A(meaning you are the petitioner,you or the lawyer can prepare the case).
NSC is not too bad now, my NIW got approved by NSC in less than 40 days, I have seen quite a few cases approved by NSC recently. If you present your case well, you will be fine.Collect all materials and write a good petition letter. Even you decide to hire a lawyer, you are still the one who knows your own research best.
