The safest way is to do an H1B

transfer and you can work immediately after you get the receipt. Since the new company is so close to your old one, I don't see there is any problem for that. And also you can work at Oregon where you should be most convenient.

If not doing so, when you apply GC, you might have to explain why you worked in company B using H1B from company A.

My suggestion might be too conservative. But unless you get better suggestions, it will not worthwhile to risk your legal status.
