Do I file AP with I-485 or later?

I am filing I-485 based on my hu*****and's citizenship. I am planning to go back to China next summer to visit. Can I file AP now together with I-485 or is it better to wait till it's closer to my travel date? How long does it take to get AP approved? I am filing to Chicago location now.
