she got stucked for 2 months and still waiting, technology transfer is what U.S. is watching and for those who are in the sensitive fields ( under TAL list) very likely to be checked and might cause months of dealy. check columbia university chinese student site, there are 700 stores, all chinese holding F1 and H1B and got delayed..some of them are tragedy, I would recommand you for 3rd contry visa, mexico is lot less risky, my coworker just did it last month.
