Not all awards are important enough to be considered. The main point is to show that by this award, you are the top whatever in your field. So, you need to explain the award itself that can show the award is reputable such as, who administrated it, how the awardees were selected, how long was the history of the award, how many people got awards vs the pool of award applicants vs. base membership. If you can find above information on the organization's web site/print materials, you can include it. If you can find someone in the organization such as award committee to write a letter to explain how it works as a reference, that will be super. If just as a reference letter, the writer needs to explain why she/he can judege that award.
